Quality - 21st Century's Indian identity
Share
We don’t lack talent. We lack a culture of quality.
Tata and Mahindra build ‘world-class’ products.
Yet, their cars aren’t bestsellers in developing nations like Bangladesh or Sri Lanka.
Even in India, when we travel by bus, we instinctively choose a foreign brand.
Why?
Because “quality” has never truly been a part of our daily vocabulary.
We keep our homes spotless,
but dump garbage the moment we step outside.
We sweep our floors,
but spit on the street.
We demand clean offices,
but tolerate broken footpaths, leaking taps, and stained walls in public buildings.
Our municipalities, our schools, our government offices, they all mirror one truth:
We have accepted poor quality as normal.
But imagine what would happen if we changed that one habit.
If every Indian, from a street vendor to a city engineer,
saw quality not as a cost but as character.
Quality in thought.
Quality in action.
Quality in commitment.
That’s when our buses, our cars, our roads, and even our governance,
will not just serve India,
they will inspire the world.
Let’s make quality our national identity.
